Mary Louise (McGowan) Tidey

Mary Louise Tidey, a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on the 19th of February 2024, in Michigan City, Indiana. Mary was born on the 5th of March 1946, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Glen McGowan and Virginia Demein-Wanat.

Mary's journey began in the heart of Indiana. She grew up to be a woman of strong character and kindness, graduating from high school and stepping into the world with determination. Mary's work ethic shone brightly throughout her career as a General Laborer, where she was not only a dedicated worker but also a friend to many.

In the summer of 2018, Mary's heart found its match when she married Ronald Lee Tidey on the 21st of July in Michigan City. Together, they created a home filled with joy, and the love of her pets, Mini-Me and Rosie.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald, and her loving children: Wendy (Barry) Myers, Deneen (Cherie) Green, Jacqueline (James) Miller, and Tamara Monsibais. She was a proud sister to April (John) Plantinga. Her memories extend to her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and kindness.

Known for her creative talents, Mary found solace and joy in knitting, sewing, crocheting, and ceramics. Mary's interests went beyond her crafts; she was happiest when surrounded by her family, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
