Paulette Lynn Watson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 27, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, IN.
She was born on September 9, 1960, in Michigan City, IN, to the late Melvin Randolph and Georgia Marie Thomas Watson.
Paulette's early life in Michigan City saw her graduate from Isaac C. Elston High School. Her passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a Certified Nurse Assistant, a role she dedicated many years to until her health no longer permitted. Known for her compassion and warmth, Paulette left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched through her work.
Beyond her professional life, Paulette was a vibrant soul with a passion for athletics. Her love for sports was evident as she excelled in softball, basketball, and martial arts. A true music enthusiast, she found great pleasure in the melodies and powerful vocals of her favorite artist, Whitney Houston. Paulette's interests were a testament to her dynamic and interesting character.
In her spiritual journey, Paulette was a former member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she engaged in community and faith until her move to Indianapolis.
Paulette leaves to cherish her fond memories to her children, Anthony (Heather) Watson of Michigan City, IN, Sheena Marie Ervin of Indianapolis, IN, LaKita Dowdell of Cleveland, OH, and Daelyn Watson of South Bend, IN. She was a loving sister to Rita Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren, Darcris Butler, Shardasha Butler, Taylor Watson, Jasmine Watson, Semara Green, Sierra Green and Kobe Ervin and thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and associates. Paulette's lifelong friendships with Gail Timberlake and Rosalyn Wesley were a testament to her loyalty and the deep bonds she formed. Together, they shared countless memories.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Randolph and Georgia Marie Watson, her brother Michael Watson, and her sister Carol Watson, one great grandchild.
Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be held in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
